Prada and Axiom Space team up to design lunar spacesuits for NASA moon mission

Prada teams up with Axiom Space to create lunar spacesuits for NASA's Artemis III mission. This groundbreaking collaboration marks the first partnership between an Italian luxury fashion house and a commercial space company. This mission, set for 2025, will be the first crewed lunar landing since Apollo 17 and will include the first woman landing on the moon. With the so-called Axiom Extravehicular Mobility Unit (AxEMU) spacesuit, astronauts will have advanced capabilities for space exploration, including increased flexibility and greater protection against the harsh lunar environment. Prada's engineers will work alongside Axiom Space's team to develop innovative solutions for materials and design features. This collaboration marks a significant milestone in space exploration and will contribute to a better understanding of the moon and the solar system. Get ready for the next generation of spacesuits enabling unprecedented exploration of the lunar surface.

"We are thrilled to partner with Prada on the Axiom Extravehicular Mobility Unit (AxEMU) spacesuit. Prada's technical expertise with raw materials, manufacturing techniques, and innovative design concepts will bring advanced technologies instrumental in ensuring not only the comfort of astronauts on the lunar surface, but also the much-needed human factors considerations absent from legacy spacesuits." – Michael Suffredini, CEO of Axiom Space
